Earthquake Update

Just a quick note to let you know that everyone is back in camp, safe and sound. While many of the campers and staff felt the earthquake out on their hikes this morning, even more were disappointed that they didn't notice the ground shaking at all!

We'll be in touch again if needed; otherwise we look forward to seeing most of you at the boat terminal in San Pedro on Monday.

Moderate Earthquake Felt in Los Aangeles

This morning at approximately 11:42, a moderate earthquake hit the Los Angeles area. The majority of our campers are returning from overnights this afternoon. We have been in contact with each group and have confirmed that all campers are safe and accounted for.

Those of us remaining in camp did feel slight shaking (actually, not all the campers in camp were even aware of it!). There has been no damage. However, as often occurs following an earthquake, the phone service is limited due to the high usage. If necessary, we will continue to stay in contact via email and the blog on our website, www.catalinaislandcamps.com.

2008 Summer Camp Evaluation

The 2008 Catalina Island Camps Summer Camp Evaluation is on line for parents and campers to give us valuable feedback about each camper's experience this summer at camp.

Thanks for another incredible summer at Howlands Landing! While we're busy with our next sessions or starting to clean up from camp, we're also looking ahead to next year. Your feedback is an important part of that planning. If you haven't already, we encourage you to complete our on-line evaluation. Click on the link above and share your thoughts with us. Thanks again for a great summer!
