New Stuff at CIC this Summer!
We've been busy getting ready for the summer. The weather has really heated up here in Southern California the past few weeks, so we know summer is coming soon. We're making lots of great plans and I thought it would be great to update you on several of them.
We purchased a entirely new swim area water park for the summer. These promise to be camper favorites! The water park includes a 20' diameter water trampoline with an attached slide and a separate catapult to launch campers into the air to land in the water. Campers can bounce on the trampoline, then slide into the water on get on the catapult to fly into the water. Campers will all wear life jackets while on the water park activities.
A camper favorite for many years is playing on the old windsurfer boards. We have replaced and upgraded the paddle board fleet with 12 brand new paddle boards designed for paddling and playing. They'll be a great way to explore around the cove and have fun races and other events.
We also upgraded our video projector and screen this year. The poor old screen had weathered the elements of at least 10 years on the island, hanging from the dining area rafter and all the sun and moisture that comes with being on the beach. The new projector includes a ceiling mount that will open up a whole new section of seating for campers directly in front of the screen where the table that held old projector used to sit. We're taking movie night to a new level this summer!
Other things to look for this summer -- new cameras for photo journalism, new tubes for power boat activities (PBA), new equipment for Target Sports and other great things for camp.
The one thing we haven't changed is the great staff at CIC. We've always known that the equipment and stuff at camp is important but that the most important thing is that we have great staff to make sure the experiences the campers have at CIC are memorable.
