CIC Full Time Staff Retreat

The full time staff of CIC got together last week for a week of review, reflection and planning. We were in a home in Lake Arrowhead that was great for the 13 of us. We always appreciate our time together. Most of the year we work in two places -- the mainland office and on the island. When most of us are together on the island in the summer (except Taki, Dolores and Heather) we are all very busy. Our 5 day retreat is the one time of the year when we can all get together in the same place without the immediate need to serve our campers.

One finished product of the retreat was an edit of our mission statement.

Catalina Island Camps develops life-long skills through fun and unique outdoor experiences in a community that cultivates respect for self, others and the environment.

Another highlight of the week is the time we spend together cooking meals and having fun. We left our week with a renewed enthusiasm for 2009 and hope we'll see you again at Howlands Landing this year.
